All-new Drift-Optimised Chassis Layout Underneath the cool street style of any top drift machine is loads of power, and the Nitro 3 Drift is no different: the power of the mighty HPI Nitro Star G3.0 engine gives you all the horsepower you want for huge top speeds and long tyre-smoking power slides in every turn! The chassis layout has been completely revised by the HPI Japan design team for optimal drifting. The engine and center gearbox have been moved forward to help the car rotate smoothly, and special shock springs are tuned for drifting. Type A drift radial tires are included, featuring a hard compound rubber for controllable high speed nitro drifting. Chassis The RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift has many of the features found on our popular RTR Nitro RS4 3 Evo+, making it a great choice for car parking drifters. The tough 4WD shaft drive system keeps the drivetrain running smoothly even on surfaces that aren't completely free of rocks. The enclosed receiver & battery box keeps the electronics protected from the elements, and with its easy removal from the chassis clean-up is a snap. A stiff purple anodized aluminium 2.5mm chassis prevents flex for consistent handling and extra durability. The all-new, specially designed drift chassis positions the engine as far forward in the chassis as possible, giving the RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift unbeatably realistic handling. Combine this with a durable 4WD shaft drivetrain, your car will quick acceleration and manoeuvrability and poise as you drift through the corners! Suspension The RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift uses the same suspension as the kit-build Nitro 3 18SS+, so it is tough, fully adjustable and loaded with features. Tough nylon suspension arms, hubs and uprights, combine with steel hinge pins to form the main parts of the suspension. The tough parts and components can handle the strain of the engine and the speeds that you can hit. Easily adjustable steel turnbuckles form the upper link of the dual-wishbone suspension. Composite oil-filled shock absorbers are fitted with special HPI drift springs for smooth control and consistent handling. A smooth ride lets the power get to the ground from the 4WD shaft drivetrain, and also gives you consistent control because all four wheels can stay on the ground. From its first use on an off-road, big-tyre truck, the HPI Nitro 4WD system has been refined and perfected over several generations of HPI cars and trucks. From the clutchbell and spur gear set, all the way to the drive axles, this is one of the most solid drivetrain sets you can find in RC! Large 1M (1 Module) gears spin the single-speed transmission, which gives you fingertip throttle control as you slide around the curves. It also lets you get up to speed fast so you can pound the corners one after another! Centre dogbone shafts drive the front and rear sealed bevel gear differentials, splitting power through heavy duty outdrives which drive the super drift Type A tyres. Electronics The reliable and sturdy HPI TF-1 radio controls the RTR Nitro RS4 3 Drift, giving you ultimate control in a realistically designed radio! The steering wheel design makes you feel as if you're actually driving the car, and the trigger-style throttle and brake controls provide you with finger-sensitive action when accelerating and stopping! The radio transmitter features interchangeable frequency crystals, servo reverse switches, a retractable aerial with sliding cover, easy access to radio adjustments and simple battery replacement. Taking the signals from the transmitter, the HPI RF-1 receiver uses standard RC connectors to send your control signals to the SF-1 steering servo, which controls the steering, and the throttle/brake servo, which is again an HPI SF-1. You get long-range, reliable connections between your transmitter and car with the RF-1 receiver and dependable control from the SF-1 servos!
