This Last weekend 17th Feb was Rnd 4 of the Cml Badlands Challange held at DRT.

With perfect conditions all week & no rain the DRT dirt track had been prepped to perfection. Temperatures were in the minus figures all night and the track was well and truly frozen when I arrived, but was to thaw by mid morning & late in the finals would start to blue groove.



With an entry of 75 and many top names entered, racing would again be close. Recent changes to the track included new jumps, adverse corners and a technical section that would be fun to drive & very rewarding when you hit the lines spot on.

To racing and round 1. With a frozen track, lap times were slow, a small error mid race would put me 5th in the round.
Round 2 and the track had now thawed and grip levels were now up, with a good clear run I finished 2nd in round 3 only seconds off TQ time.
Round 3 saw no changes to the car other than a tweek to the engine tune, the car felt like it was on rails, having to negotiate several cars per lap, every lap. This run never really found the cars true pace but I again went 2nd in the round, still seconds off TQ and qualified 2nd in the A Main.



With the start of the A main the track had began to rut up in some sections and blue groove in others. The pole man crashed out on the 1st lap so I took the lead and pulled a half lap lead by the first fuel stop. The car was so easy to drive from this point on and I had settled into a very steady pace allowing me to lap the field up to 2nd place by the end of the 20 minute final. Both Alex and Jason improved on there start position in the A main to make it a good day for team Xray
