Mirage Dominate R3 of Rug Racers
Round 3 of the Rug Racers Winter Series at Woodson Park in Hertfordshire saw team drivers from Mirage totally dominate the modified class with Andy Moore taking FTD and Olly Jefferies wining both legs of the A final.

After round one of qualifying it was Olly Jefferies that led the field with his Hot Bodies Cyclone, Olly improved his time in round two to stay ahead of the quality field. In the final round of qualifying Olly grip rolled early on leaving Andy Moore a clear track to chase Olly’s time, after a near perfect run Andy put himself top of the pile, a half a second up on Olly, such was the pace of these two that they were four seconds clear of the rest of the field. In third was Elliott Harper putting in a excellent performance for X-Ray with his new T2'008.

A top three lock out for Mirage. Making it four Mirage drivers in the top five was Ben Cosgrove in fifth just behind national Touring Car Champion Chris Grainger. Johnny Bowden qualified sixth with his HB Cyclone and Brain Eldridge also made it into the A in eighth with his X-Ray and Stu Noble completed the top ten with his HB Cyclone.

The final had Andy and Olly both make good starts and were clear of the chasing pack after only a few laps, then Andy clipped a track marker and fell back leaving Olly up front. Elliott took up the challenge of catching Olly but the HB Cyclone driver controlled from the front to take the first leg win. Andy finished fifth in leg one which gave olly an advantage over his world champion team mate in leg two, but this did not stop Olly pressuring Andy right from the start of the second final!

Leg two saw a repeat of the leg one result as Andy caught the tape entering a corner and rolled his Cyclone, Olly once more led from Elliott and once again drove a controlled and steady pace to take the leg two win.

The final result showed Olly as the clear winner with two wins from Elliott in second and Andy third, two more Mirage drivers completed the top five with Ben Cosgrove fourth for X-Ray and Jonny Bowden fifth for HB.
